Hello everybody!
My name is Mariana Hudrea.
I teach English in a school from Romania.
My interest in using computers in school goes back to the year
1986.Since then I have been trying to develop my skills in this field.
Through diferent discussion lists I found out about diferent
educational projects. The most successful with my students was Friends &
Flags.(You are invited to visit the current project website at:
URL:http://www.schoollife.net/schools/flags)
We intend to join it again .
Three years ago I attended a Multimedia course in Great Britain. After
that course I started to deliver a series of PowerPoint presentations
and I organized class activities meant to show my colleagues ( from my
city and from diferent other places from my country) the benefits of
using computers in school activities.
Next week I am organizing a Multimedia Summer Camp for 37 students aged
14-18. Most of them do not have access to computers at home or even at
school.
The camp will last 8 days.
It is meant to be an interactive camp. They will be divided in three
groups according to their computing skills.
The students will be offered the opportunity to find exactly what they
can do with/on a computer.
They will be shown how to use the e-mail, to surf the Net, to join
chat -groups .They will be taught how to use didactic CD-ROMs, etc.
They will be invited to visit different educational sites on the net. They
will be also offered to opportunity bring their contribution to the
school website.
Besides these we will organize trips and other interactive activities.
At the end of the camp they will be invited to organize a show .All these
activities are meant to be presented on the school website.
Those who are interested in the way the camp will develop, in the
problems that might occur , are invited to contact me directly.
