The Connect for Kids Literacy and Reading topic page (under Topics A-Z in
our Reference Room) has links to good online resources. Book Adventure looks
like a good fit to include there, too!

And the National Center for Family Literacy site also has some good info:

Booklearn describes itself as a free reading program for children in grades
K-8.
Does anyone else have examples of online resources for literacty programs
and activities, particularly those that involve adults and families?

Here is more information from their press release:
"After a successful first year, the site's expanded offerings will extend
Book
Adventure's mission to promote a nation of readers by providing new
educational resources for parents, teachers and kids.
In addition to a lively new look and enhanced navigation, Book
Adventure now boasts three new resource sections, Parents Place, Teachers
Lounge
and Kids Zone. Each section offers valuable links to literacy trends,
statistics, motivational tips and educational tools. The resource sections
were
created in cooperation with the nation's leaders in literacy and education
including Reading Is Fundamental Inc. and the International Reading
Association,
both members of Book Adventure's Educational Advisory Committee (EAC). The
Book Adventure EAC provides critical guidance to ensure that all resources
are relevant and credible in today's educational environment."
