VISTA Volunteer Opportunities at BNN

[Nettrice Gaskins]

BNN-TV, Boston’s public access cable television center, is looking for
two volunteers to join the Americorps VISTA program and work at the BNN-TV
and new Multimedia Center locations, starting in fall 2000.

INCENTIVES:
•  Education Awards or Stipends up to $4,000
•  Opportunities to gain experience in community service and build skills
•  Access to state-of-the-art computers, digital equipment and production
studio space for
    tv/video
•  Trip to CTCNet conference in San Diego, CA in 2001
•  Opportunities to participate in workshops on digital video production,
web design and
   more

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•  Assisting with special projects relating to education, outreach, web
development and
   community building
•  Supporting members in a variety of programs, including training and
access
•  Involvement in other activities at the BNN-TV and the Multimedia Center

CRITERIA FOR BECOMING A VISTA:
•  Ability to make a one year commitment
•  Available full-time, 40+ hours per week
•  If in college, can not take more than 6 credit hours
•  Can not be employed elsewhere
