Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation

General Grant Information

The Ruddie Memorial Youth Foundation aims to identify and implement
innovative and effective ways to help youth reach their full potential. The
Foundation accomplishes its mission by offering two types of grants.
Evaluation Grants fund the identification and evaluation process used to
select productive programs for underprivileged youth and Dissemination
Grants fund the implementation and dissemination of selected programs.

Evaluation Grants

RMYF identifies and evaluates innovative, effective youth programs by
offering Evaluation Grants in allocations ranging from $3,000 - $15,000.
These grants are targeted to new programs that show promising potential for
the greater good of underprivileged youth. The purpose of Evaluation Grants
is to measure the success of selected programs, and to set a standard of
accomplishment for these programs. Grant recipients are expected to use
evaluation results to improve their services and demonstrate a significant
positive impact on the youth population that they serve. It is the hope of
the Foundation that Evaluation Grant recipients will, during the course of
one to three years, use their results in the fine tuning process to increase
effectiveness and receive a Dissemination Grant.

In order to apply for an Evaluation Grant, eligible organizations
(organizations with IRS non-profit status) should apply by September 22,
2000 (ignore posting on web page of September 15). Applicants will be
notified by December 1, 2000 if they have received the grant.

Dissemination Grants

RMYF implements and disseminates youth programs that demonstrate significant
success by offering Dissemination Grants in allocations ranging from $5,000
- $25,000. These grants are targeted to innovative programs that have
demonstrated substantial fruition in their services to underprivileged
youth. The purpose of Dissemination Grants is to help expand selected
programs by establishing partnerships with other organizations that will
adopt the model, reaching a broader geographical scope, or otherwise
assisting grant recipients to apply their effective practices to additional
populations. Grant recipients are expected to evaluate the efficiency of
their efforts on the newly served populations.

In order to apply for an Dissemination Grant, eligible organizations
(organizations with IRS non-profit status) should apply by September 22,
2000 (ignore posting on web page of September 15). Applicants will be
notified by December 1, 2000 if they have received the grant.
