Here are some other Web sites that collect great Web sites/online
exhibitions. Most of the content on these sites feature a WIDE variety of
topics. So, you'll need to do some in-depth searching for Latino resources
-- might be a good project for students...

National Endowment for the Humanities Online Exhibits
http://www.neh.gov/exhibits/online.html

WestWeb - A portal-like Web site about the West
http://www.library.csi.cuny.edu/westweb/noframes/main.html

Internet Scout Project
http://scout.cs.wisc.edu/

Library of Congress - American Memory Project (American Memory includes
numerous collections of digital materials - photos, streaming audio, and
streaming video. You can do a key-word search for "Latino")
http://memory.loc.gov/

Hope it's helpful,

<p>On this note, our community has a large Latino population. I've been at
this job and in this community for a month so I'm still very fresh and
learning! Recently it came to my attention that it is currently Hispanic
Heritage Month (from Sept 15-Oct 15 to include the majority of independence
dates from Hispanic countries).

How are folks out there celebrating in their computer labs or technology
centers? I have tracked down a couple of links, including www.latino.com
and teacher.scholastic.com/hispanic/index.htm that have been helpful in
planning activities and lessons. I'd like to create a bulletin board in our
computer lab to showcase Hispanic achievements and list some additional web
sites for the kids to explore. Ideally some of the kids would help out as
well!

Please share your ideas :)
