Upcoming After-School Forum Announcement:
After-School Forum: Enhancing After-School Programs with Quality Science,
Mathematics, and Technlogy
November 2-3, 2000
American Association for the Advancement of Science
Washington, DC
Designed especially for youth workers, this forum will teach participants
how to incorporate science, math, and technology into after-school
programming for children in grades preK-8. Participants will:
· Participate in hands-on activities that are educational and entertaining,
and will learn how to implement these science, mathematics, and technology
activities in after-school programs.
· Learn how to design a fun, engaging, standards-based after-school
curriculum.
· Attend a strategy session on how to incorporate science, math, and
technology activities into after-school programming for youth.
· Take home publications, hands-on materials, and online resources.
· Receive valuable tools for selecting science resources.
· Network with other youth workers.
