FULL TIME JOB TRAINING STAFF POSITIONS AVAILABLE
for MULTIMEDIA ACCESS AND TRAINING
BNN Multimedia Center, provides low-cost access to high tech computers,
high speed Internet access, multimedia software for nonlinear editing,
digital video/audio, web design classes, training, and support. By providing
the means of digital communication in a public forum, it invites diverse
communities to express themselves and gain skills to enter the multimedia
field. BNN Multimedia Center:
* Offers high-tech job training for low and moderate income residents
* Provides open access sessions for members of the Center
* Manages a multimedia lab and digital studio
* Offers special seminars, classes and training for members
* Offers quality programs for youth and senior citizens

The Full Time Job Training Coordinator/Head Instructor oversees the IT/Multimedia
Job Training Program, and is responsible for general instruction, and
program assessment. S/he works closely with the Multimedia Center Director
and other staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Development:
* Plan and oversee implementation of the IT/Multimedia Job Training Program,
including curriculum development, general course instruction, and assessment.
* Collaborate with program/community partners and BNN staff in effective
program implementation, including curriculum, job placement and staff
training.
* Assist in the enforcement of policies at the Center, including those
governing membership dues, workshop fees, and security.
* Keep up to date with developments in the field.
Operations:
* Assist in the supervision of assistants, instructors, interns and volunteers.
* Recruit, retain and support participants of the program.
* Work with Multimedia Center Director to create appropriate curriculum,
resource guides and manuals.
* Supervise and at times instruct Job Training classes and other workshops.
* Design and implement methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the Job
Training program.
* Keep well-organized, accurate and thorough records of program participation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have:
* College degree or greater, especially in computer education, or any
field related to multimedia. Specialization in web development, graphics,
animation and/or nonlinear video production a plus.
* Broad computer knowledge and skills.
* Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
* Experience with developing curriculum materials.
* Excellent people skills. Group facilitation skills a plus.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong planning skills.
* Spanish or other local languages a plus.
* Knowledge of Boston a plus.
Salary: Range $35,000-$40,000, commensurate to experience (plus
benefits)
OTHER PART TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
The Part Time Assistant Job Training Instructor provides instruction
for the IT/Multimedia Job Training Program, and is responsible for instruction
and group facilitation. S/he works closely with the Job Training Coordinator
and other staff.

The following job description is for two center assistant positions available
at the BNN Multimedia Center, working on special initiatives for youth
and older adults in and around Roxbury, MA. Assistants will report to
the Multimedia Center Director and work closely with other staff.
DESCRIPTION
Duties may include:
* Designing and managing web sites (HTML skills, Java, Dreamweaver, etc.)
* Maintaining computer network(s)
* Performing basic troubleshooting tasks as needed
* Enforcing lab policies and procedures
* Maintaining the lab and digital studio (cleaning, organizing, etc.)
* Helping to track attendance
* Updating and creating databases (i.e. for software)
* Installing software and some hardware
* Maintaining digital equipment (cameras, scanner, projector)
* Providing general support to members and volunteers
* Supervising children and teens
* Assisting in workshops as needed
* Attending meetings and participate in other activities
* Other related tasks as needed
Applicants should be flexible with schedule as much as possible. Days
and hours are flexible (no more than 12 hours weekly). Students who
are 18 & older and interested in multimedia, computer & technology fields
are recommended. Center assistant training begins in early January.
