Hello,

My name is Melissa Hornberger and I'm the founder of a nonprofit youth organization in Central Florida. Our organization's name is Youth Media Productions. We work with youth to help them become media and technology literate. Our initial program trains youth in publishing through various mediums. The youngsters publish a quarterly magazine titled YOUTHXPRESS and they are preparing for the launching of the digital version of their magazine in February. Both the printed and the digital version is completely written and illustrated by the youth. We are very excited about the work that the young people have done.

We are planning an after school media training and technology learning center for disadvantaged middle schoolers in our area. We hope to have it open by September. We are eager to hear stories from other technology centers. I hope to work with everyone on the list to better prepare our youth for their future.
