Attend the Youth As Decision-Makers Forum!
Youth Board Members, Grantmakers, and Advisors Invited to Denver
Increasingly, youth across America serve in formal leadership roles on
nonprofit, foundation, school, municipal, and corporate boards of
directors.
The Youth As Decision Maker Forum will take place on April 3-4, 2001 in
Denver, Colorado as part of the 12th Annual National Service-Learning
Conference. The National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) and Youth
Service
America (YSA) will sponsor the Forum, and the Ewing Marion Kauffman
Foundation of Kansas City will provide funding.
Designed and directed by YSA's National Youth Advisory Council, the
forum
will combine speakers with skills development, relationship-building,
coalition-building, and self-education. The event will be held at the
Adams
Mark Hotel in Denver, Colorado and registration is $50 for youth and
$150
for adults. The opening session begins at 7pm on Tuesday April 3rd, and
the
event closes at 3pm on April 4th.
A new resource guide with contact and program information for youth as
decision-making groups will also be available in print and online at the
Denver Forum. To include organizations in your community, please
