Eric,
My suggestion is that you use the Internet as your text book. There are a variety of sites with the knowledge you want to teach. www.tutormentorconnection.org has links to many, but so does the Morino Foundation, the National Mentoring Partnership and many others.
If you can build a teaching program that motivates learners to go into these sites in some organized manner, and facilitates their understanding of this information, you can begin to extend that to thousands of learners beyond your classroom.
This is an opportunity any university has, which would reach alumni as well as undergrads. If you (or anyone else) would like to discuss this concept further, please send me an email.
