Since I am new to YouthLearn, here is something about me

I am the Executive Director of Homestead/Florida City Weed and Seed, which
is a federally funded strategy that works in targeted neighborhoods in
cities where there is low employment, high crime, and high drug use/sale. I
have been in this position for about 17 months and am having the time of my
life. I love my job because it really gives me an opportunity to do some
real work. I also operate two Safe Havens, in Homestead and Florida City,
where children, parents, and individuals come for different things.
Children come to be mentored (and it is not easy to find mentors!), do
homework with tutors (and that's not easy either!) and a zillion other
things, parents come for parenting groups, anger managements, etc., and
individuals receive counseling, both personal and marital. I am an MSW and
(off and on) am working on my license when things are not too hectic here.

It will be a pleasure, I am sure, being connected to YouthLearn. Please
contact me for any assistance that I might be able to offer.

Rose
