Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This demonstrates a role business
can, and must play, using the nonschool hours and non-school locations, as
partners in helping kids stay in school and stay headed to careers.

Last week I was a speaker a the Hospital Youth Mentoring Network Conference
held in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins University. There are nearly a dozen
major hospitals around the country doing school-to-work mentoring programs.
These serve as another model of how business can get involved.

We all need to find ways that CEO's and trade associations are looking at
these models, borrowing from them, then reaching out to our agencies as
partners in mentoring and career development. You can learn more about the
Hospital Youth Mentoring Network at www.mentor.jhmi.edu.
