For those of you in the midwest, I'd like to encourage you to take a look at the workshops being offered at the 15th Tutor/Mentor Leadership Conference, to be held in Chicago on May 17 and 18.
The conference is described at www.tutormentorconnection.org. It's purpose is to help organizations build the business side of a non-profit tutor/mentor program (marketing, evaluation, volunteer recruitment and training) and to provide models and networking that can enrich the quality of any program.
This is a grassroots conference. All speakers are volunteers, as are the 30-plus organization volunteers who work with the Tutor/Mentor Connection to plan each conference. We expect 225 to 250 people to attend.
