Cocktail Charities & Capital Impact for AmeriKids at The Blue Room, Thursday
April 26th, 6:00 PM
THIS THURSDAY - April 26, 2001!
Capital Impact, a start-up nonprofit e-Philanthropy, based in Adams Morgan,
is partnering with Cocktail Charities to launch the beta test of their
ePhilanthropy web site and services. This will allow people to donate to
LOCAL charitable organizations and causes through the World Wide Web.
Capital Impact will have a live line for you at the Blue Room so you can go
to their site and make a donation. Or you can donate the Cocktail Charities
old fashion way, leave a tip at the bar!!!!!
All donations that evening will go to the AmeriKids Art Fund. AmeriKids, a
program run through American University helping underprivileged youth in the
Ward 8 area (Southeast Washington, DC - the most economically
disenfranchised Ward in the city and home to some of the worst statistics
for children and youth). It is the mission of the Art Fund to tap into DC's
rich theatre community and extensive youth-centered theatrical performances
and expose the youth of this area to diversity of Art.

The Blue Room is pledging 30% of food sales for the evening to the event!!!!
The event starts at 6:00 PM
Blue Room Dress Policy: No jeans, sneakers, T-shirts or hats.
The Blue Room is located at 2321 18th Street (202 332 0800)
Cocktail Charities: Almost $30,000 donated to local neighborhood charities!
