Hi Everyone and Mr. Garcia,

Please do let me know if I can be of any assistance. I have a few contacts
in your Arizona, I'll check my listings for Flagstaff; and I am in touch
with many folks ( globally ) who are interested in telementoring with
dynamic communities (mentoring via email or phone) like yours...

Contact me anytime, CTC's often find mentoring useful and if I can help you
folks make connections with resources online or in your area - please let me
know!

Warmly,
Leah Dawn

<p>My name is Rich Garcia. I am Yaqui Indian and I am currently working for
Tolani Lake Elementary School Academy. We are a K-8 Charter School on the
Navajo Reservation in Arizona. I am the Title 1/Technology
Coordinator/Grant Writer for the school. I am currently working on a
Community Technology Center grant and as I was researching on the web I ran
into your organization. I recently talked with one of our statisticians and
he told me our area of the rez has a 94.42% unemployment. Our average
highest grade achieved is 8th grade. We are 62 miles from a Flagstaff our
closest major city. I am focusing on literacy skills for our community. We
have a 20 computer lab connected to the Internet via a satellite connection.
All of this is supported by erate so who knows how it will go this year.
The Internet at the school is a primary resource for our community. One
foundation lady I spoke with alluded to the fact that we are like a third
world nation and it is true. Many of our homes lack running water and
electricity. So I look forward to whatever support you can lend to complete
the setting up of our lab and connecting staff, students and community
members to resources that might at least keep them from falling evern
further away from the mainstream.
