Response To The View From The Ground

Everyone,

Thank you very much for your positive responses to The View From The Ground.
We're really just in our beginning stages and learning how to effectively
get the word out about The View.  Your comments have been a real confidence
builder.

For those who read April's Kitchen and In Memory of Eric Morse, we're very
pleased to report that there was immediate action taken on both items.
While management was angry at these publications, we had top officers from
the Chicago Housing Authority in our office on the Monday after the weekend
we published the two stories.  Management has since locked the roofs and is
working with April Moore on her housing situation.  Obviously, there are
still hundreds of dangerous, insulting, and negligent things happening here
at Stateway, but it's very heartening to see that a little email publication
with no funding and scant resources beyond our own capacity can have a
positive effect.  That's one of the powerful things about having your
support as readers, as well.  A stronger readership sends a powerful message
to the higher ups who read this publication.
