Keith --
Could you clarify what you mean by "business plan"?
When I first read your post, I thought you were looking for ways a youth
serving organization could generate revenue. For example, there is an
organization called Street-Level Youth Media which is a successful desktop
publishing/graphics operation run out of a community technology center where
youth from the community are the employees. Is that what you mean?
Or maybe instead you are looking for what some organizations might call a
strategic plan, a five-year plan, a mission statement... There are lots of
different folks on the YouthLearn list. Sometimes we just have to find a
common vocabulary for talking with each other.
I look forward to hearing more!
Pam

Subject: Business Plan
<p>Myself and others have asked the question about the development of a
business plan. Several people have sent responses back to lead us to
different web sites. I am looking for specific examples from non-profit
youth serving organizations. Am I and others to believe that there are no
youth serving organizations that have business plans. That would be a major
concern if that is the case. Seems to me, that would mean that
organizations may not have clear visions and goals for the future. Is that
the case?
