Here are a few more leads on your question about capacity building --
Late next week, we (Venture Philanthropy Partners, a sister organization to
Youthlearn) will publish a report entitled "Effective Capacity Building in
Nonprofit Organizations." The report offers some practical ideas and
language about capacity building along with examples of how 13 nonprofits
around the country have undertaken various capacity building efforts. The
report also includes an organizational assessment tool that will allow you
to answer questions and determine where your organization is in its life
cycle and will give some indication of some infrastructure development
might be helpful. A PDF file of the entire report will be available on our

check it out.
Also, last month the Center for Nonprofits and Philanthropy at The Urban
Institute published a very good report on building capacity in nonprofits.
