Hi Lara
I am Executive Director of Camp Fire USA West Michigan Council in Grand =
Rapids, MI. Our organization runs after-school programs in three inner =
city public elementary schools and one subsidized housing complex. Last =
year we collaborated with Goodwill to offer computer classes to the =
parents and grandparents of the youth we work with in one of the =
schools. Needless to say they loved it and we are trying to find =
funding to continue to offer the program this school year. Most of the =
youth we work with are low income (over 90%) and one school is 98% =
Latino. We also continue to serve youth in the suburban areas with our =
classic club as we have for over 80 years in this area. I am very =
interested in helping the youth we work with become productive adults by =
offering them the opportunities to learn.
