New building for Youth Center

Hello Bobby:

My name is Rev. Eric Fonza, I am the new Workforce Specialist for the
Community Technology Center in Springfield, IL. For the past four years I
was the Sangamon County Youth Coordinator. During my experiences, I have
found that HUD has a Community Development Block Grant and in it reserves
funds for "public facilities and improvements" subsection 570.201(c) which
provides for "Acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, or installation of
public facilities and improvements...carried out by the recipient or other
public private non-profit entities." Usually the money is given to the
City, so you may want them to check with the City Manager on how to submit a
proposal/application for the funds.

Your org. might be eligible as long as at least 51% of the users will be
individuals of a low/mod income household or census tract area.

I hope this helps.

Subject: New building for Youth Center

<p>We have just been given a building for a Youth Center in Downtown area. The
building needs alot of work, but the closet thing to a youth center for our
youth is 55 miles away in Lubbock. Can anyone help us with some tips on
starting the process of providing a youth center for our youth? Thanks you
all in advance for taking time to respond our email.
