Hello,

Below is a list compiled by my colleague, Margie Legowski, of resources
available from the Corporation for National Service to the general public
via the web. Please take a moment to review the list and feel free to
forward this message to any colleague, friend or listserv you wish.

Thanks,

When most people think about the Corporation for National Service they think
of people -- Learn and Serve America youth, Foster Grandparents, RSVP
volunteers, Senior Companions, AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps VISTA and NCCC
members. But did you know that the Corporation is also a rich source of
research-based training and technical assistance for all tutoring, mentoring
and out of school time programs that engage volunteers?

Each year the Corporation funds such organizations as the Northwest Regional
Educational Laboratory, the National Institute for Out of School Time, Bank
Street College of Education and Aguirre International to provide training
and technical assistance to volunteers working with youth and schools. And
all of the material developed by these groups is now available to you and
your programs without charge through the National Service Resource Center,
the LEARNS Partners and ProjectStar.

Following is a sampling of what you can now access for free. Note: Materials
are organized by the following categories:

* Starting Up and Managing Your Tutoring, Mentoring or Out of School
Time Project
*       Training Tips
* Training Tutors, Mentors and Out of School Time Volunteers
*       Evaluating Your Activities
