2002 YOUTH IN ACTION/COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANTS
Funding provided by MetLife Foundation
http://www.fourhcouncil.edu/ycc/grantinfo.htm
Deadline is November 2.
Community service grants of $500 to $1,500 are now available.
These grants provide opportunities for young people and adults to
take action on issues critical to their lives, their families,
and their communities.
The grant program puts resources directly into the hands of
youth. Youth are asked to take the lead in the design of the
project, the proposal writing process, and the project's
implementation and evaluation.
The application form (available online) also includes judging
guidelines, advice on how to write a proposal, and tips for youth
and adults working together. The website also includes examples
of last year's projects.
Grant proposals need only be two pages in length. The proposal
does not have to come from a 4-H club, although you'll need to
let someone in your local Cooperative Extension/4-H office see
and sign the application. (Go to www.areyouintoit.com and click
on "Local 4-H links" for a list of offices or look in the state
or local government pages under Cooperative Extension in the
phone book.)
