Keith,
One of the topics you mentioned as part of your institute was Computer
Technology. Effective ways to teach this (assuming you mean techniques for
working with youth and computer technology) include having participants do
hands-on projects using computers and by allowing them to explore the many
online resources for developing meaningful activities for youth. You'd
need to include in your budget the cost of a lab - either one that already
exists on the premises or one that is set up by a computer rental vendor.
And depending on the meeting space, there may be additional costs for
connectivity.
In general, you should also include line items for handouts, materials,
manipulatives, food or snacks, and miscellaneous items that will be
"consumed" by your participants.
