Announcing TechSoup's latest online event: VOLUNTEERS AND TECHNOLOGY
Join us the week of February 25th - March 1st in the TechSoup Community!
<http://www.techsoup.org/event_volunteers.cfm>
The hosts of this event will discuss their perspectives on working with
technology volunteers and using the Internet to connect volunteers with the
organizations that need them. They will converse with volunteers, volunteer
managers and organizations who use volunteers about how technology impacts
their work, past experiences and their visions for the future.
Our panel of experts includes:
*Karen Thomas and Fresh White of CompuMentor's Mentor Matching Program
*Jayne Cravens, an Online Volunteering Specialist at United Nations
Volunteers,
*Lila Musser and Jon Cirome of VolunteerMatch
We will explore ideas such as:
*How do nonprofits most effectively recruit volunteers over the Internet?
*What can a technical volunteer do for my nonprofit?
*What is Virtual Volunteering?
*What is the difference between online mentoring and other direct service
online volunteering?
*How are technical volunteer projects different from other volunteer
projects?
*How can individuals use the Internet to find the right place to volunteer?
This week-long event will conclude TechSoup's monthly theme on
Volunteerism.
Join the discussion in the TechSoup Community!
