Please forward the information below to teachers in the areas of
technology, math, and science.

Approximately thirty students from our district (KY), participated in the
First Lego League Robotics Challenge last year. Students, ages 9-14, from
all over the world participate in this yearly challenge to build, program,
and test, their own fully autonomous robot. This is a terrific program for
an after school program or any group of students, in class or out. The
challenge is published each fall and students have eight weeks to complete
the project.

Unfortunately, at this time there are only a handful of Kentucky schools
participating and our students had to travel to Tennessee to participate in
a tournament. We would like to invite more Kentucky schools to take part
in
this exciting program as we hope to develop a Kentucky State Robotics
tournament in the future. Our students participated in the Tennessee State
tournament in December. Information about this exciting technology program
can be found at http://www.usfirst.org/jrobtcs/flego.htm

If you have any questions concerning the project, or if you have students
who participated in this project and would like to see a Kentucky
tournament started, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,
