You may wish to contact Ana Lucia Martinez at anayz at aol.com.  Last
December, she directed the inaugural FIRST Lego League Competition held in
New York City (it was spectacular) and is hard at work on the 2nd Annual
New York City FIRST Robotics Competition for high school students, which
will be conducted later this month.  Both of these are develped under the
aegis of Polytechnic University's Packard Center for Technology and
Educational Alliances, and you're correct, these are very exciting programs
in applied science.  These are part of the university's array of
substantive outreach offerings in the areas of science, mathematics and
technology.
