Heads Up, a nonprofit organization that serves low-income children and
youth in the District of Columbia, is seeking to fill several management
and staff positions.

Below are highlights of the descriptions.

Curriculum, Training, and Evaluation Specialist: The Curriculum, Training,
and Evaluation (CTE) specialist will develop curriculum and content, lead
program-related training efforts, and oversee and coordinate evaluation for
Heads Up's programs for elementary students and teenagers. These programs
currently involve six D.C. neighborhoods and schools in which 400
elementary students and teenagers participate in after-school tutoring,
mentoring, and summer learning programs and 200 undergraduates participate
as tutors, teachers, and mentors. The CTE specialist will ensure that
programs have first-rate curriculums, that all staff and tutors are trained
appropriately to deliver and implement the curriculum and program, and that
evaluation is used to continuously improve the program.

Site Coordinators: Heads Up site coordinators serve as the frontline
leaders and managers of our after-school and summer programs for students
in grades 1 through 6. These programs feature small group literacy and math
tutoring, project-based learning activities, homework assistance, and
monthly field trips. Each site coordinator is responsible for the daily
administration, safety, and quality of one neighborhood/school-based
program, which includes leading approximately 35 tutors and part-time
AmeriCorps members (primarily undergraduates but also high school students
and parents), and ensuring the quality and safety of experience for 80
participating elementary students.
