My name is Tamara Pearson and I am the Education Director at Jacob Riis
Neighborhood Settlement House in Queens. We are currently looking to fill
2 positions in the after-school program. Please read the descriptions

Part-time School Advocate (20 hours/week)
Develop parent workshops to educate around issues of education; monitor
youths progress in school; develop linkages with community- and
school-based parent groups; strong interest in education and community
development. Exp. in community-based organization.
Part-time Literacy/Academic Assistance Specialist (25 hours/week)
Develop and implement academic assessment tool; assist in development of
age appropriate remediation tools; create comprehensive tutorial work plan;
recruit, interview, train and schedule volunteer tutors; strong interest in
education, literacy, and community development. Exp. in community-based
organization.
