The Gift Family Resource Center in SE Washington, DC has an opening for the
following position:

The Program Director has the overall day-to-day operating responsibility
for the afternoon academic and summer learning and enrichment programs of
The Gift Family Resource Center. Supervision, interpersonal skills and
appropriate knowledge are the key aspects of the position.

Reports To:  Executive Director

Supervises: The Tutors, Counselors and tutoring Volunteers

Relates To:  Paid Staff, Staff of local schools, Volunteers, Parents and
Guardians, Students, and Governing Board

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Assistant Executive Director include the
following:

?            Direct the day-to-day operations of the programs provided by
the Center
?            Prepare monthly report on program operations for Executive
Director and Governing Board
?            Supervise Tutors, Counselors and tutoring Volunteers
?            Co-facilitate staff meetings
?            Generate ideas with respect to new programs and their
implementation
?            Along with the Executive Director, recruit and evaluate tutors
and other staff
?            Along with the Executive Director, work with schools to
identify, screen and recruit students to         be in the programs
?            Serve as the Center's liaison to the Parent Community
?            Participate in the training of staff, including the Tutors,
Parents, and Volunteers
?            Implement appropriate curriculum material for all aspects of
the Center's operation
?            Administer the academic testing programs
?            Maintain a database of student progress, to include report
card information, standardized test scores, and other appropriate measures
of success
?            Work on projects assigned by the Executive Director

Performance Evaluation and Review
An annual review and evaluation by the Executive Director, Governing Board,
and representatives from the Parent Community

Education and Work Experience
Education: Bachelors of Social Work, Child Development or related field
Experience: Two years of work experience in non-profit organization,
working with at-risk children
