JOB ANNOUNCEMENT * CFY SENIOR WEB DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Computers for Youth (www.cfy.org) is seeking to hire a Senior Web
Development Intern. The position is part-time for 6-9 months.
Deadline for Applications: August 27, 2002

Organizational Description:  Computers for Youth (CFY) is a NYC-based
non-profit organization that places computers
in the homes of underserved children and families and provides a range of
services to help them use the technology
to improve quality of life and enhance learning opportunities in their
homes.

Job Description:  CFY's Senior Web Development Interns are part of a small
and vibrant team that develops content for, builds, maintains, and
evaluates the Community Corner website (www.communitycorner.org).  This
website is the main page, the entry point, for the children and families
that CFY serves. Senior Interns are also responsible for supervising Junior
Interns (high school students) and for taking the lead on some areas of
site development.

CFY's internship positions encourage a great deal of creativity, maturity
and teamwork.

Job Requirements:
· College degree or some college experience required.
· Experience with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
· Basic keyboarding/typing skills.
· Interest in education, community development, and the Internet.
· Experience with low-income, culturally diverse populations.
· Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
· Good work habits: Reliable, on-time, motivated, communicative, and
willing to work.
· Good writing skills.
· Attention to detail and ability to be thorough.

***          Ability to speak, write and read in Spanish is a plus!!
***   Minorities and people of color are encouraged to apply!!

Location:  Manhattan.
Hours:     10-15 hours per week.  Flexible scheduling between 10am and 6:30
pm to start mid-September, 2002.
Salary:    $7.50 per hour to start.
