My name is Sonia Witherspoon and I live in the DC metro area. I am a Cisco
Network Engineer and I design and implement networks for clients. I have
been mentoring students via email with information technology curriculum in
the eves. It seems to me that no matter what medium you use, young people
are responding. I have 10 students and we work together via email and
instant messenger. I am considering adding a voice mechanism to my PC and
helping the students do the same. It is effective. I am trying to get
fellow engineers involved in this effort. If I can be of any assistance to
you, don't hesitate to call on me. The digital divide between the "haves"
and "havenots" is too great, and I'm really interested in helping my
people.
