Hey RJ
My name is Thurman Jones, I run a Technology Training Center in Prince
Georges' County Maryland. Every year we have a Youth Summit on Technology.
This year it will be at Largo High School. I would like to invite your
students to give a workshop at the Summit.
The mission of the Summit is to give students within the Washington DC
area a chance to see the importance of and the many opportunities in
technology. During the Summit the students will be able to design web
pages, develop databases, surf the Internet, and build computers. Logicon,
AOL, Verizon, HP, NASA, Intelligent Decisions, National Society of Black
Engineers, Northrop Grumman, Cingular Wireless, Broadvision, Lockheed
Martin, File Tek, and other organizations have agreed to present
workshops.
The Patriots Technology Training Center, Inc. is a non-profit,
community-based organization in Prince George's County, Maryland. Our
mission is to teach technology and technical skills to local residents.
Our focus is on the youth of the communities in the Washington DC area. In
our five years of existence, we have developed programs that have resulted
in technical training and computer access for over 3,500 community
residents. Our programs include: High-Tech After-School Programs at local
libraries, Youth Summits, Summer Camps on Technology, Robot competition,
Walk A-Thon for Literacy and Health Awareness, and other ongoing youth
efforts.
Please give me a call if you have the time.
