Idea: Why not start with a 10-minute pilot and take a tour around your
community first? I bet you'll uncover some who were involved if you look
hard enough.

Idea: You could do a storyboard -- pretend trip. Use some literary license
and do the story but just work as a staff without leaving town. And, you
could use poster paper and flip charts to tell the tale. This would still
take plenty of research.

Both would help to pave the way for the end project you described.
