You can also use your local resources such as museums to do some research
about the civil-rights movement. In Northern Virginia, I designed a program
called " Museum Maniacs", where we explore information about various
cultures through field trips to the Smithsonian Museums located in
Washington, DC. With some intensive research, I was able to create themes
and outlines for each trip to different museums dealing with historical &
art information about many cultures. You can have them take photos, to help
a design a scrapbook about their experiences. Good Luck with your project!
