Teddie,
The Capitol Hill Computer Corner in association with 'Heroes and Hope' ran
a summer tech program where students paired up with a mentor to research
and produce their own documentary about a hero in their lives. Mentors
were volunteers, professionals from video/tv production. Special guest
speakers came in to speak to various aspects (editing, scripting etc.) and
students went on related field trips. The culmination was a community film
festival where all of the students were recognized and the films were
presented. The software used I believe was a consumer version of Avid which
is what the professionals at Discovery use.
