A Better Chance

Dear Youthlearn members:

Established in 1963, A Better Chance is the preeminent resource for 
identifying, recruiting, and developing leaders among young people of 
color throughout the United States. Through the A Better Chance Scholars 
Program, A Better Chance has placed over 10,000 middle and junior high 
school students in some of the nation's finest college preparatory 
schools, both public and private. 

We are about to start our spring recruitment drive and I am looking for 
new resources.  I am responsible for recruiting in the Mid-Atlantic states 
(PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, WV) and I am interested in finding programs that 
work with students in any of those regions, especially in the cities of 
Philadelphia, Baltimore, Wilmington, Washington DC and the major cities in 
Virginia.  If any knows of or works with a program that would be a good 
recruitment source for talented students of color in grades 5-10 and 
especially those who will be considering high school options for next 
year, please advise.
