Hello Everyone,
The Children's Cabinet in Reno, NV is considering a youth technology
summer "camp" in our computer lab over the summer. We have some
experience working with youth through a variety of programs, but the
technology camp would be relatively uncharted territory for us. Our
initial vision includes two or three groups of youth, ages 10 - 14,
learning technology skills through age-appropriate, hands-on projects,
with older teens, ages 16-18, acting as mentors. In regard to this
proposal, I am hoping some of you may help me by pointing me to:
* Examples of successful programs and lessons-learned from
similar endeavors
* Tested curriculum examples for similar programs
* Any other resources that would make such a program
successful
I will be acting as coordinator for this camp, so any feedback you can
offer would be great. Thank you!
