Hello All,
In case you haven't heard about this already, I wanted to let you know of
a fabulous opportunity to see youth media production and the use of
technology in action at the upcoming National Media Education Conference
in Baltimore, Maryland from June 28-July 1st.
One of the highlights of the conference will be the gathering of 26 high
school students from around the country who will be creating media on the
conference theme of Literacy and Liberty: Rights, Roles and
Responsibilities in a Media Age. Funded by AOL/Time Warner, this group of
young people will convene for team building exercises on Friday, June 27,
and then begin their production experience the next day as the conference
begins. They will present their work at the final plenary session on
Tuesday morning, July 1st.
There are many other fine examples of media technology that will be
presented in workshop format throughout the conference, including a
pre-conference technology workshop featuring iMovie, Final Cut Pro and
Power Point.
This is truly THE BEST conference I've ever been to in my professional
career, and I hope to meet some of you there. For more information on the
conference please go to the AMLA website at www.AMLAInfo.org. You may
also contact me directly if you need additional information.
Regards,
Kara Clayton
NMEC 2003 Program Co-Chair
