Here's an idea for funding - look to local sponsors to do specific amounts
for a specific return.

For example, a $1,000 donation would make a donor a "World Class" Sponsor
and for their tax-deductible contribution they could expect postcards from
their student and a gift when they come back. The student would be
responsible for spending, say the equivalent of $10 - 20 on a gift to
personally bring back (and deliver to the sponsor?) that represents the
culture of Mumbai. You'll take 6 students, that's 6 World Class Sponsors.

A lower price ($250 - 500?) "Adventurer's Class" sponsorship would get the
sponsors 2 postcards and an invitation to a luncheon report. The parents
of the students traveling could host the luncheon (?) a week or 2 after
the kids return. The kids do the world premiere of their DVD at the
luncheon. The "World Class" gifts could be given at the luncheon, as
well. Acknowledge everyone in their differing classes - this sets up
expectations for doing another trip, as well!

Good luck! Get some corporate sponsors, including local media. The kids
can send digital photos and reports back while on the trip as well.

Local papers love that stuff!
