This is a great event for youth under the ages of 24. Youth will be 
participating from all over the city.

The Digital Community of Columbia Heights and Shaw Presents
TechnoRodeo 2004
Washington's Premiere Multimedia Showcase for Young Producers.

Youth show your stuff in the Networking/Connectors Challenge; Loop Music 
Creation; and It's Technodemic. Come see and hear the future of digital 
media. All young people are invited to submit their digital masterpieces:

The Techno Rodeo is a showcase for the creativity of local youth in the 
emerging fields of digital arts. Young people 24 years and under will 
enter multimedia projects in the hope of winning recognition and cash 
prizes that will be awarded to the top projects for each of the three age 
groups: youth, teen and young adult. A panel of judges will determine the 
winners for each of the five categories: web page, digital music, graphic 
design, animation, logo for Techno Rodeo and video.

The Techno Rodeo gives young people the opportunity to work as a team in 
hands-on challenges such as a computer  Networking - Connectors Challenge; 
tech-trivia challenge - Technodemic; and a multimedia timed challenge 
Digital Music. 

Rules for Pre-submitted Competitions

All pre-submitted entries must be submitted to Jessica Alvarez, Columbia 
Heights/Shaw Family Support Collaborative, 1816 12th St NW, Second Floor, 
Washington, DC 20009 by 5 pm on Friday, February 27, 2004. Projects must 
be in the correct digital format and clearly labeled, including Name, Age, 
Category, Title, and Organizational Affiliation (if any.) The work may be 
saved on floppy disk, CD, VHS or zip disk. Submission forms are required 
and can be downloaded from www.technorodeo.com. Winners do not have to be 
present to win.

Logo Design 
Objective: The most creative and original logo for the 2005 Rodeo. 
Categories: Under 24. 
Format: Tiff, Photoshop or Illustrator file at 300 dpi file on a floppy,
CD or zip disk. 

Music Production 
Objective: The most creative and original music track using Acid Music 
software. The track must be between 2:00 and 3:00 minutes in length. 
Categories: 12 and under; 13 through 19; 20 through 24. 
Format: wav or mp3 file on a floppy, CD or zip disk. 

Web Design 
Objective: The most original web page. It will be judged on content, 
design and navigation. It should not contain more than three connecting 
pages. 
Categories: 12 and under; 13 through 19; 20 through 24. 
Format: html ready files on a floppy, CD or zip disk. 

Video Production 
Objective: The most original video or public service announcement. It will 
be judged on content and technical mastery. PSAs must not be more than one 
minute. Video's cannot be more than 30 minutes. 
Categories: 12 and under; 13 through 19; 20 through 24. 
Format: VHS Tape 

Animation 
Objective: The most creative and original animation using Kid Pix, Flash, 
or PowerPoint. Will be judged on content and style. Kid Pix animations and 
PowerPoint presentations must be converted to a web ready format. 
Categories: Categories: 12 and under; 13 through 19; 20 through 24. 
Format: html ready files (Flash swf) on a floppy, CD or zip disk. 

Computer Graphics 
Objective: The most creative and original drawing or graphic using Kids 
Pix Deluxe, Photo Shop, Paint Shop, Paint, Painter, etc. Can include 
images, pictures, colors, or photographs. 
Categories: 12 and under; 13 through 19; 20 through 24. 
Format: html ready files (jpeg or gif) on a floppy, CD or zip disk.
