At FleetBoston, 100 Federal Street, 2nd floor conference room
Near Boston T stops for South Station and Downtown Crossing

Purpose

At this working meeting we will celebrate the past and plan for the
future. We will discuss how girls, their adult advocates, and the
Coalition benefit from embracing diversity and working together across
differences.

Keynote by

Strong, Socially Smart, and Spiritually Connected, Dr. Ward will speak
about celebrating the ethnic/cultural identities of girls and their adult
advocates. Dr. Ward is an associate professor at Simmons College, where
she chairs the Africana Studies department. She is also codirector of
Project ASSERT (Assessing Strengths and Supporting Effective Resistance in

constructions and biases of gender, race, and class. She is a member of
the Girls' Coalition Leadership Council.

At this historic annual member meeting we will introduce several Coalition
initiatives:

        our improved website
        our on-line resource directory=20
        our new membership drive
        our in-depth evaluation
new Leadership Council officers and members

In striving to better serve girls and their adult advocates, we will also
solicit input from you, our Coalition members and constituents, about the
future of the Coalition and how we can continue to grow by embracing
diversity and responding to your needs. You will be asked to vote on
