Hi Matt,
You might want to encourage the young people you are working with to look
into Youth Venture. We help young people who want to start clubs or
organizations that will provide a benefit to their community (see below).
Youth Venture is a national non-profit organization that empowers young
people ages 12-20 by providing them all the tools necessary to create
civic-minded organizations, clubs or businesses. We provide access to a
variety of resources including: scholarships, awards, special conference
invites, a national network of like-minded young people, media
opportunities, technical allies and up to $1,000 in seed capital needed to
launch their organizations. Our philosophy is that young people can and
should positively impact their communities through their actions. We
believe that youth inherently have the creativity and determination to
create genuine change within their communities. Our goal is to reach
every young person in the nation and provide them with the Youth Venture
opportunity.
