Hello all,
This contest is a really cool example of youth getting involved in
environmental issues and voicing themselves. We're really excited and
trying to get as many people online to vote for their favorite hip hop or
spoken word submission. Do you think young people in your network would
want to hear what their peers have to say about the environment? If so,
please let them know about the I Buy Different hip hop content at: www.ibuydifferent.org . The last date to vote is: Thursday, June 17th.

Sincerely,
Tracy

<p> ************* Vote Now for the Best Hip Hop Song About the Environment ********************

Young teens are getting a taste of celebrity hip hop life. But instead of
choosing the bling bling and big cars, they're using hip hop to tell other
young people about how they can make a difference for the planet by
spending according to their values. They're promoting a positive message,
with attitude.

The Center for a New American Dream and the World Wildlife Fund have
sponsored an I Buy Different hip hop contest for youth ages 10-15. This
contest encourages youth to think about how their consumer choices not
only affect their local community but the world. Their original songs,
raps, and spoken word have been professionally recorded and are now
featured on www.ibuydifferent.org for anyone to play and download.

Online voting takes place until June 17, so jump online and VOTE NOW! Web
voters will determine the top winners, who will receive prizes such as
studio time to produce a demo CD, concert tickets, and a karaoke machine.
Winners will be announced on the website on June 22, 2004.

To hear songs and vote, go to www.ibuydifferent.org, click on the hip hop promo on the homepage, then click on "Listen Up and
Vote" on the side menu.

Help support these youth artists by encouraging others to go online and
vote! Please feel free to forward this email to whomever you think would
be interested!
