What can you expect from serving one year with AmeriCorps*VISTA and
Missouri 4-H Youth Programs?

* Gain premier experience in the youth development field.
* Live out your dream of being a Peace Corps volunteer,

quiet seclusion of Mark Twain National Forest.

This and much more!

In the words of our members, the 4-H VISTA Program is about..."motivating
and teaching others to build better communities with youth and adults to
strengthen community assets, while helping to eliminate the cycle of
poverty."

4-H VISTA prepares professionals of all ages to work in university
extension or similar community outreach work. The program offers exciting
opportunities to "bridge the digital divide" for low-income children in
rural and inner-city areas, or to empower at-risk youth in leadership and
community decision-making. Project areas include:

* 4-H After School Computer Labs Project
* 4-H Youth Civic Engagement Project

As a 4-H VISTA worker, you live in an urban or rural setting of your
choosing, and work closely with a University of Missouri field faculty
member and area agencies to carry out your project.

Strong candidates will have at least two years of college education and a
background in K-12 education, youth development, volunteerism, technology,
and/or community development. They will also have excellent skills in
communication, organization, and collaboration, and will be proficient
with Microsoft applications. Benefits include a $9,420-$9,792 living
