Eastern Regional Afterschool Conference

The first Eastern Regional Conference on After-School will be held on May
10 and 11, 2005 at the Sheraton North in Towson, Maryland, just outside of
Baltimore. Five dynamic conference themes are being developed, including:
* Embedding Core Academic Content in Enrichment Activities
* Policy and Practices to Create Capacity, Partnerships, and
Sustainability
* Integrating Youth Development Principles
* Merging Research and Practice to Improve Quality
* Showcasing Programs in the Region
The conference will be hosted by The After-School Institute (TASI), and
co-sponsors include Associated Black Charities; DC Children and Youth
Investment Trust Corporation; Maryland State Department of Education; and
the National Partnership for Quality Afterschool Learning (SEDL and
SERVE). Additional support is being provided by the National School Boards
Association, Philadelphia Safe and Sound, and the University of
Pennsylvania School of Social Work.
