Matt:

Go to www.NetDayCompass.org and click on the link for classroom support to
find information about all kinds of available resources online to help you
either decide on an existing product or to inform your own development
efforts. NetDayCompass is an online directory of education technology
products and services from a very wide variety of resources - gov't,
for-profit, nonprofit, research, media, academic. Each of the major
headings has subheadings and links to online resources. All of our
resources are reviewed by our editorial staff for quality and validity. We
do not accept any corporate sponsorships on the site - so there is no vendor
bias. We think of it as a one-stop shop for information about tech
resources for teachers, administrators, youth program coordinators,
community leaders etc.

good luck,

Julie

This year's NetDay Speak Up Day for Students has now concluded with over
166,000 K-12 students taking our online survey about technology and
education. Stay tuned for updated announcements on our findings and next
steps with the data at www.NetDay.org.

The National Report on Speak Up Day for Teachers was released at a
bi-partisan Congressional Briefing on September 23, 2004. Check out
www.NetDay.org to learn what 11,132 teachers told us about technology in
education.

NetDay engages and empowers student voices in education issues through
innovative uses of technology. Thank you for your support.

Subject: [YL] a literacy curriculum "package" using computers?

hi

I Hope people had a good thanksgiving:)

We are working on developing a curriculum for the ymca staff to use in the
cyberYs with their groups of kids.
I was just going to use a few web sites....pbskids.org and youthlearn.org
and plug in some lessons from those sites.
But I think there might be a better way..
Here is what I'm looking for:

focus on literacy
grades k-5
a "package"
nationally recognized
using computer/internet (resources)

Does anyone know of such a product?

thanks.
matt

We also pay the price of learning to fear each other.||
You see it everywhere: the fear of smiling and greeting someone else,||
fear of sitting to closely to certain people on the T and the overt||
fear of even rising our eyes to meet another’s while walking.||
It’s funny that the city forces us to live so compactly on top of each
other,||
but we resist acknowledging that we do.
