Hello to all-
In response to Keith's message about good locations for an overnight
retreats, there are six recommendations from members of the YouthLearn
list digested below.
In 2002, YouthLearn and our colleagues at the America Connects Consortium
planned an overnight retreat with our Young Leaders program, bringing
together youth and adult coaches from CTCs around the country for a
leadership training. It was held at the 4-H Center in Chevy Chase
Maryland. We found it to be a very pleasant environment for a youth
retreat-- there was a lovely green lawn area outside the main building,
and they have a game room that was quite popular during breaks! And
though we had a cozy group of 36 participants, I believe the center can
house hundreds. Hope this helps.
Best of luck to you, Keith!

Hi Keith,
Madison Square Boys & Girls Club has a great 120-acre camp facility in
Kingston, NY. Camp Madison is a great rustic place for a retreat
-especially if you want hiking, low-ropes course, swimming pool,
multi-purpose cabins, a lodge, tennis courts, fields, trails, a lake and
many other great perks!...
Let me know if this suits you.

The beaches area in Delaware is terrific for retreats. Hotel cost is
reasonable on the off season and several hotels can accomodate that
number. Call or email Rehoboth Beach Tourism.

I have organized a few at the Airlee House in Warrenton, VA and really
enjoyed it there. I have also heard of good things about an Aspen
Institute retreat on the Eastern Shore in MD (?).
