Celebrate National Poetry Month with goCyberCamp!

Take the kids in your program into the world of words at goCyberCamp!

goCyberCamp celebrates National Poetry Month with the POETRY IDEA ENGINE!

The Poetry Idea Engine is an interactive activity that sparks kids'
imagination to write poetry. Kids can choose to create a haiku, limerick,
cinquaine, or free verse! Kids learn about the different styles of poetry
and the power of words as they experiment with rhyme and meter throughout
the activity.

To support kids' online learning, you can engage them in some hands-on
activities that are easy to do in a short amount of time. Hands-on
activities for Poetry Idea Engine include:

Word Play
Encourage kids to use their imagination in creating a poem using real
and.pretend words!

Poetry in Pictures
Guide kids to imagine poetry in pictures.

Poetry Challenge
Have kids be inspired by words to create poetry.

Picture this Poem
Give kids the opportunity to illustrate what they imagine about a poem.

Background information on poetry writing and other ideas on how to
incorporate poetry into your program are available at the Caregiver Club
on goCyberCamp.

Poetry Idea Engine and accompanying hands-on ctivities are aligned to
National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Standards.

This feature comes to you as a Monthly Feature on the Caregiver Club at
goCyberCamp. You can access this and other themed program ideas as a
