My two cents. There is a clear research literature that children and youth  
learn a lot of knowledge, skills and behaviors from video/tv/electronic games 
--  early on and throughout their lives.  
 
It is also clear that business and the military use increasingly advanced  
video and electronic simulation technology to "teach" adults effectively. 
 
So, from my perspective, one right next question should be -- how can we,  on 
the service, government and nonprofit side of the equation -- assure access  
to highly valuable technology that works in a positive way to assure young  
people are educationally successful, acquire the soft skills they need for work, 
 and acquire a strong sense of technical efficacy.  Janice Gruendel
