We actually have a wonderful relationship with our University and they
provide us with the equivalent of $50,000/year or more in work study
dollars.  All this is used during the regular day and afterschool.  The
America Reads and Counts programs are very much Clinton initiatives.  As
such, they carry little or no weight in this administration.  From what
I hear from my liaison at our University, it is almost fighting an
uphill battle to keep providing this service to the community.  We are
fortunate in that we have someone in the Financial Aid office who fights
this battle.  I am not saying this is impossible to do - it just takes
work.  I believe part of what makes our university so willing to do this
is that we work together on a regular basis to provide services to the
youth in our area and they see the effort we also put into making this
